WISE and Greenfleet: A partnership driving environmental change

Our partnership with Greenfleet, which began in 2019, highlights our people’s enduring commitment to sustainability and the protection of our environment.

Since then, we’ve offset just over 7-thousand tonnes of CO2e through Greenfleet, directly supporting the planting and protection of biodiverse forests across Australia.

This partnership is part of our broader environmental strategy, which has seen us offset Scope 1, 2, and potentially Scope 3 emissions to cover our international footprint.

Scope 1 emissions refer to direct greenhouse gas emissions from our activities, such as those generated from the use of company vehicles and gas consumption in our offices. Scope 2 emissions account for the indirect emissions produced from the electricity we purchase to power our offices and other facilities.

In 2023 and 2024, we expanded our carbon offsetting efforts to include Scope 3 emissions, which cover other indirect emissions in our supply chain and business activities. By addressing all three scopes, we’re taking comprehensive action to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a sustainable future.

At WISE, we believe that earning, learning, and living well goes hand in hand with being responsible stewards of the environment. As we continue our journey, we’re committed not just to providing meaningful work for our people but also ensuring that we are making a positive impact on the world around us.

These contributions have helped create and maintain native forests, ensuring long-term positive impacts on local ecosystems, wildlife, and communities. Our dedication to carbon offsetting goes beyond just numbers—it’s about creating opportunities for our people and communities to thrive in a sustainable future.

Matt Lambelle, Group CEO of WISE, says “Since the beginning of our partnership with Greenfleet, we’ve seen the tangible benefits of supporting reforestation projects. Our ongoing commitment to offsetting emissions is not just a contribution to environmental sustainability, but a reflection of our values.

“By working with Greenfleet, we are making a lasting impact on the future of our planet, while also empowering our team and customers to be part of this journey. It’s about earning, learning, and living well—for our people and the planet.”

Wayne Wescott, CEO of Greenfleet, is excited for what the future brings, “Greenfleet is focused on delivering climate action and by working with us to remove their emissions, WISE is enabling the restoration of native forests that will sequester this carbon from the atmosphere and grow wildlife habitat.”

“Thanks to the support of organisations like WISE, Greenfleet can continue enabling Australians to take climate action”.

As we look ahead, our partnership continues to grow, with a shared goal of creating a sustainable future for generations to come—one tree at a time.
